Template:Infobox character Sakura Kono (河野 桜 Kōno Sakura?) is the vice-president of the student council of Katagiri Senior High School. She is enrolled in Class 3-5 with Ayasaki Remi.
Appearance
Sakura has short green hair and wears a pair of eyeglasses. It has been noted by Remi and Hori that she has fairly large breasts. [1]
Personality
Sakura is a well-rounded, kind, and responsible person. She is very hardworking, making sure that the Student Council does its work, as well as any follow-up work. She is also quite conservative as she refuses to admit that she has feelings for Toru, but she later admits to Remi that she has someone she likes. (Toru)
She is insecure of herself, so much so that she at one point expresses envy of her close friend Remi, who Sakura believes is cute, unlike herself. Her insecurity, however, is something that she slowly comes to terms with throughout the series, which leads her to gain self-confidence and make new friends.
In book nine, she states that she is buddhist.
Plot
Something that Sakura is shown struggling with throughout the manga is her own self-confidence and self-worth. These play a major role in her interactions with the other characters, most importantly of all her eventual crush, and later confession to Toru.
Relationships
Ishikawa Toru
She has a crush on him and has confessed to him (possibly via text) in chapter 58.
Ayasaki Remi
She has known Remi since they were younger and appears to be best friends with her, though sometimes she envies her cuteness and beauty. Remi thought Sakura had a cute name around the time they met.
Yanagi Akane
Chapter 84 was mainly focused on the pair as they form a friendship suggesting a future couple. However, both still have lingering feelings for someone else (Kouno liking Toru and Yanagi liking Yuki) even though they were rejected. Maybe through this common ground, they will form a good relationship through relatability (this, however, is speculation.) They both share a common interest in Weekly Shinobi, a manga they both like to read, and their personalities are quite similar. It has been noted that she is jealous of how Yanagi looks good with everything and is conscious about their face size.
