You Wear More Than One Face (「顔は、ひとつだけじゃない。」 'Kao wa, hitotsu dake janai.'?) is the second episode of the Horimiya anime.
Synopsis[]
When her mother asks about Miyamura, Hori comes to a frightening realization; later, the Student Council ropes Hori into extra work, but when conflict arises, it's up to Miyamura to smooth things over.
Summary[]
Hori and Miyamura are on their way back home after shopping for groceries. As they pass an anime poster with music playing from the speakers, Miyamura hears Hori singing along to the lyrics, unaware Miyamura was listening. When he compliments her singing, Hori bashfully denies it. Miyamura then asks what type of music she likes and Hori realizes she doesn't know, only having memorized the lyrics to the anime that Souta is into. Later, Hori returns home to find her mother welcoming her home.
While talking to her mother, Hori realizes despite all this time she has gotten to know Miyamura, she still doesn't know his first name. Instead of directly asking him for his first name, finding it to be too embarrassing, she tries to figure out what his name is through indirect methods at school from peeping through the boys' changing room to trying to find Miyamura's name on the academics standing poster. After meeting her mother when she's out of the house, Miyamura learns Hori's true intentions for acting so strange throughout the day and tells her his name.
At school, Hori is helping out the Student Council with various assignments despite not being part of the council, and her friends wonders if she's being used by them. After Izumi is accidentally knocked over by one of the Student Council members, Remi Ayasaki, he realizes that she dropped and left behind the budget report. The next day, Hori is getting scolded publicly by the Student Council president, Kakeru Sengoku, for forgetting to turn in the budget report. Izumi sees this and proceeds to headbutt him, then show the Student Council members the budget report that Remi dropped. The council apologizes, and it's revealed the reason why Hori is doing the Student Council's bidding is because Sengoku has dirt on her for when she used to bully him when they were younger as kids. The next day, Sengoku becomes scared of Miyamura, having being traumatized by the headbutt yesterday.
As the students prepare to start their third year, Miyamura gives Hori a CD for her birthday while Hori tries to imagine what life would be like without Miyamura.
